Fully adhered roof systems offer the highest degree of stability and uplift protection. The insulation boards both insulate and secure the roof to the metal deck. As a result fully adhered roof systems have fastening patterns of 12 24 fasteners per 4 by 8 rigid insulation board far more than the 5 8 fasteners required for mechanically attached roof systems. These adhesive products are carefully engineered to have strong chemical bonding capabilities so the roofing material being applied stays tightly on top. Thick membranes edpm rubber ranging from 45mm to 90mm are fully adhered with approved bonding adhesive over insulation. According to industry experts fully adhered refers to when a roofing product such as epdm membrane roofing is glued to a substrate with a commercial grade adhesive.

This requires the 4 x8 insulation boards to serve the dual role of insulating and securing the roof to the metal deck which requires far more screws.
